History of Foxcroft in Charlotte NC
Foxcroft is part of an area that was a former dairy farm owned by the Harris family. The neighborhood was developed in the 1940′s, and it is common to see major renovations in these expansive, luxury homes. You will also find in-fill homes in Foxcroft, where owners have re-built homes on existing lots, or gone through tear downs and retrofits. The stunning architecture in Foxcroft is quite diverse – you’ll find traditional 2-story homes as well as large ranch style homes boasting over 5,000 SF! Foxcroft Neighborhood Real Estate Market
As the chart below shows, home values in the Foxcroft neighborhood in South Charlotte NC have reverted back to 2005/2006 prices, which is far better than the Charlotte market as a whole, which has reverted back to 2002/2003 prices. After a significant 67% spike in 2007 to an average sales price of $1,714,408, the Foxcroft real estate market dropped 12.5% in 2008, 18.6% in 2009, and another 21% in 2011, before creeping up 2% in 2011. So… during the housing market decline of 2008 – 2010, the Foxcroft neighborhood lost a good portion of it’s 67% gain in 2007 – but not all of the gain!
